What roles do you recruit for?

That includes equity and salaried partners, senior associates, associates from NQ to 5+ PQE, in-house counsel from commercial counsel through to General Counsel, paralegals, legal executives, costs lawyers, patent and trade mark attorneys, legal secretaries and PAs, and compliance and risk specialists.

Do you place temporary, contract or interim lawyers?

No. Aspiriar Legal recruits exclusively for permanent appointments. We do not place locums, day-rate paralegals or interim cover. Every hire we make is intended to be a long-term, permanent member of your team.

What is your typical timeline from brief to placement?

Most permanent legal searches run between four and ten weeks from kick-off to accepted offer, depending on seniority and how niche the practice is. Partner-level and confidential searches often take longer because of the discretion required. We give you a realistic timeline at the discovery stage and update you weekly.

How do you charge?

We work on either a contingent or retained basis depending on the seniority and confidentiality of the role. Most associate, paralegal and support roles are run on a contingent fee, payable only on a successful start. Partner appointments and confidential in-house searches are typically retained, with a portion of the fee paid in stages tied to milestones. Fees are agreed in writing before we begin.

Do you offer a replacement guarantee?

Yes. Every permanent placement is backed by a written replacement guarantee. If a candidate leaves within the agreed period, we run the search again at no additional fee. Specific terms are confirmed in our engagement letter.

Which UK regions do you cover?

We recruit nationwide. Our work is concentrated in London, the Thames Valley, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cardiff and Belfast, but we also support firms in Newcastle, Liverpool, Cambridge and across the wider South East and Midlands.

Do you only work with large firms?

Not at all. We partner with international and Magic Circle firms, national leaders, regional independents, specialist boutiques and in-house teams of every size. Boutique founders hiring their first associate get the same care as a Magic Circle practice rebuilding a team.

How do you protect candidate confidentiality?

Discretion is the foundation of legal search. We never share a CV or name without explicit candidate consent, we never advertise confidential briefs and we use anonymised candidate packs by default. Our consultants are senior, experienced operators who understand what is at stake on both sides of a brief.
